We heard this a few days ago and again yesterday and again today…Although we both feel different about it, we can go on comparing from “The Fugees” L-Boogie to her “rock” style performances, on to “Repercussions”, and now her newest “Neurotic Society”. I remember seeing her at Rock the Bells a few years ago and her performance was more on the rock tip…I thought it was dope, while half of the crowd was booing her. Then we saw her about 2 years ago and she seemed to be her old self, just pregnant! Lol. I’ve always loved her as an artist and most definitely respect her work…How do you feel about this new Ms. Lauryn Hill?
For those of you that were there last year for the So Much Soul 10 Year Anniversary and the release of Vol.8, you already know what’s comin’….DJ Vinroc & Shortkut do it again…Volume 9! You know we wouldn’t miss this tonight, Friday, March 29th at Slate in San Francisco. Soul music and beyond.
Anyone else excited about The Foreign Exchange’s new +FE Music: The Reworks? We are! Two discs and 21 tracks featuring remixes from Nicolay, Zo! 4hero, ?uestlove & James Poyser…need we say more? Haven’t even heard the whole album yet, but what we have, ooh wee…so dope!! Don’t sleep y’all…get your copy here!
Wow…I just read this article from Los Angeles Times talking about this final decision for tonights X Factor, and I couldn’t disagree with it more. Five contestants left in the show and judges have expressed how important their performances are being that there is a 5 MILLION dollar contract on the line, yet this is what the contestants get when the judges are on the line….
“Don’t blame Nicole Scherzinger for the fact that Rachel Crow was sent home on “The X Factor” on Thursday night, just shy of next week’s semifinals. (I know, shocker.) All Scherzinger did was say what she needed to say to send the decision to “deadlock,” so the audience vote would determine whether Crow or Marcus Canty, this week’s bottom two, would be eliminated.” – LA Times
Yes, she is definitely to blame for this result of Rachel going home tonight! Sending the vote into “deadlock” had nothing to do with tonights performance and leaves us wondering what the heck these judges are there for and why they would even have to perform a “save me song”! Marcus Canty, yeah, he did his thing on this show (which also left him in the bottom two, three times!)…
Ok, enough of my X Factor rant…Just look at this video of 13 year old DIVA: Rachel Crow. Who would you have sent home, Rachel or Marcus?
She sure was One in a Million, and taken too soon. Today we celebrate the life of the “Princess of R&B” Aaliyah Dana Haughton. With such an amazing short life, 10 years later we still listen to her music and it still touches our soul. Aaliyah definitely left an imprint on the music industry and will continue to do so in our hearts. Thank you Aaliyah…
