limited edition j dilla print

Dilla month has begun, celebrating his life, death & legacy. We decided to share our tribute to one of our favorite MCs and producers with the world. We have had this artwork up on our wall for a few years and are so excited to have a series of 12 Limited Edition prints signed and numbered by the artist, and our very own Raul “Boogie” Caracoza, Jr. Some of you are familiar with what Boogie has done, and understand how special it is to have a piece of his work in your hands…for those of you that don’t, lets just say he is AMAZING at what he does and an extremely humble & great man.

These Limited Edition J Dilla prints are 12×18. The background and overlay reads “Don’t sell yourself to fall in love with those things you do” repeatedly throughout the whole print. Each signed and numbered print will be going for $40 plus shipping & handling. To order yours, please email us at Orders@SoMuchSoulClothing.com

hennessy – the art of blending

In case you haven’t seen this yet, we definitely recommend watching it. It’s a 30 minute video that basically sums up why we (along with so many other artists and fans) love and appreciate music as much as we do. The unexpected collaboration of Hip Hop, Funk, Electronica, R&B and so many artists performing with The Roots is such an incredible thing to see. Although we wish we could have been there, it’s still as great to be able to see it all come together as it does in this video. Erykah Badu, Bobby Brown, E.V.E., Jay Electronica, Ron Isley, Mike Posner, Q-Tip, The Roots, DJ D-Nice,  Daniel Merriweather, Chaka Khan…and a few more…Where else are you going to see interviews by & see these musicians together on one stage? Thank you Hennessy for “The Art of Blending”…we truly appreciate it!

banksy x the simpsons

It looks like Banksy is not only hitting the streets of Hollywood but he’s also leaving his mark in the animation world. I was just watching an episode of The Simpsons that aired this past Sunday and I came across the street artists mark two times throughout the episode. Pretty dope!

In October of 2010 Banksy directed an opening sequence known as the couch gag of The Simpsons which, in true Banksy fashion, was super edgy. Check it out right here.

banksy strikes again

With the NBA All-Star game this past weekend and the Oscars this coming week Hollywood is as busy as ever and UK street artist Banksy is letting everybody know that he’s in town. Pictured above are two of the artists latest marks on the town.

Banksy  is nominated for an Oscar for best documentary for his debut film “Exit Through the Gift Shop”. He recently requested to show up in a mask to the award ceremony if he wins but was denied by the powers that be because they fear that it would invite copycat party crashers.

Academy Executive Director Bruce Davis: “The fun but disquieting scenario is that if the film wins and five guys in monkey masks come to the stage all saying, “I’m Banksy,” who the hell do we give it [award] to?”

Banksy also hit the Sunset strip earlier last week. Check out the pieces right here.
