reason – the social network

Upon seeing the now classic 2010 film, LA/Orlando hip-hop artist Reason was inspired to create his own soundtrack. While composer Trent Reznor created minimal yet powerful electronic soundscapes for his score, Reason’s project creates a sound perfect for the headphone hip-hop listener. Over production provided by THX, Flash Beats, and Epik Tha Dawn, Reason tells his own tale of dreams, ideas, success, celebration, reality, and despair. The result is a sonic journey into the mind of one of the most interesting and fastest rising artists in hip-hop.

“The Social Network” is Reason’s first all-original project for 2011 and the follow up to his acclaimed 2010 Free EP “Kill The Radio”. Fans can expect even more original projects to come this year, and can be on the lookout for music videos including “Bright Lights” featuring Sarah Winters. “The Social Network” is available for free download and will give fans great music to vibe with and a new meaning to the Oscar favored film.

soul sundays – always

This weeks Soul Sunday track is off of Kev Brown’s “I Do What I Do” album called “Always”. Released in 2005, this album and emcee are highly underrated. His smooth beats, mellow tone and all around dope music is timeless. This is just one of those albums you can put on repeat and enjoy over & over, and never get tired of. “Always” is on a hidden track (along with a few others) that I was extremely excited to find….and now share with y’all!

Happy Soul Sunday!

banksy x the simpsons

It looks like Banksy is not only hitting the streets of Hollywood but he’s also leaving his mark in the animation world. I was just watching an episode of The Simpsons that aired this past Sunday and I came across the street artists mark two times throughout the episode. Pretty dope!

In October of 2010 Banksy directed an opening sequence known as the couch gag of The Simpsons which, in true Banksy fashion, was super edgy. Check it out right here.
